Also, launch Disk Utility (located in /Applications/Utilities) and check you hard drive for errors.

I'm using Mac OS X 10.6.7, Memoires Version 3.2.1 (53). The problem started today and I have not had it before. When I add text in the date bar to title my entries and hit Command S the program crashes and does not save the newly entered information.

You're doing it right, just make sure that you enter your license information exactly as it appears in the email you received after your order completed. The common mistake is to enter "Licensed to" name differently -- make sure you preserve the case (just copy and paste it).

If it still shows an error, please email me at memoires@codingrobots.com.

Hi, I purchased a Memoires license well over a year ago for use at work. I recently upgraded to a new MacBook Pro and need to now use my license on my new machine. How do I go about doing this? I tried entering the license key and name on my new machine but the software does not accept it.

Cheers, Graeme.

Hi Boxerman!!!

I would really appreciate if you share your code. There are a lot of us out there who need this very feature, but are less experienced with applescripts. Your help would be priceless. Thanks in advance for your support!!!

Ok, after looking further.... First off, the export feature you have works fine - dumping to pdf and RTFD is great.

As for importing, I actually have figured out the code for doing this entirely with applescript and UI Element coding, so I can load my daily notes that run back to 1993. That will run for a little while!

But.... a couple of things. When you invoke the Change Date... panel the "Set Date" button will not take a return or enter key as it should. You have to click it with the mouse. Same with the Cancel button - it should take the escape key. Fix that.

Many times I have noticed after making any change - where the window close button hilites ( ie changes have been made and need to be saved ), it takes two invokes of the Save ( cmd-S ) to get the program to actually perform the save.

And the real problem: Make a new entry - enter text in the text area - then perform a change date. Do this ALL without saving. You will see that your new entry does move to the date you set, but it will only be accessible in the entry listing ( show all entries ), but WILL NOT be visible when you click the hilited date button when viewing the month viewer. Please fix this.

Thanks.

I have years of daily text-only entries in a mac program that I wrote years ago. I am looking to move the entries into Meoires that I purchased. I know that you have only added importing from some other journal programs, but PLEASE add at least a few applescript commands or at least a menu command "Go to date..." that I could access with the UI Element interface. I can export my entries to a text file and I am proficient in applescript and objective c and I would be very grateful if you could give me some way to import free-form date-tagged text into daily entries in Memoires. Thanks.

Memoires pretty much nails my idea of a diary for the Mac. Suggestion: add a forward and backward button that takes you to the next and previous date that has an entry. I think that multiple entries for a day is great! And separate journal files is great!

Another suggestion: allow a date tagged text-only export feature for ALL and RANGE of notes. Don't worry about graphics and non-text items. This allows users to have the text portions of their diaries dumped to single readable files.

Or better yet - give Memoires FULL applescriptability - then we could do whatever we wanted ( import, export, etc. )

hello,

I went back a couple of days in the journal to import some entries that I have done on my iphone. Manually copy and paste to the correct day.

However, I messed up and add the entry to the wrong date. Problem is I cannot remove or delete that entry. Anyone has an idea why?

Thanks.

I think the best way to keep this sort of information is just to use the file system. Mémoires supports embedding images and other file types, but you seem to have a lot of stuff that's best viewed and edited using programs such as Preview (scans, for example), while Mémoires is better suited for rich text.

If you have OCRed text entries, then, I think, Mémoires for text, combined with folders and files for images/media on disk, will work well.

I'd just create folders for such retrospective diary, e.g.: create a root folder "Diary", then, inside it, folders like 2009/April/15, and put all media stuff into such folders. If I had text entries in addition to media, then I'd create a Mémoires journal inside the root "Diary" folder, and put every text entry into this journal.

Hello
In my dotage I am thinking of creating a sort of retrospective diary of all my travels, significant events etc., going back about 60 years or so.
I have travelled a lot, in all about a decade of my life, and i have a pile of photos (several thousand), travel diaries, letters etc which i would like to get into some sort of chronological order, and a diary like this would assist.
Or perhaps, a journal so that i can put everything in it in date order, adding scans of documents, cut and paste in letters etc, attach a photo, etc etc
Is a program like Memoires a good program for this project? Or is there a better way to go about it? (my investigations so far lean me towards Memoires as the best of the 6 programs i have looked at)
And if so, how do i do it?
If i want to include photos, will it handle this (there are about 6000 photos!)
Can you view days only or months at a time, or can you see, say, 6 months at a time?
Can I print out a diary calendar for the events of say, 1969?
many thanks
arnie

Hi, it would be great to add default spacing for Memoires entries. To set inter-line spacing, I usually have to open the ruler after each new entry and add it manually.
