Where are the instructions for configuring Blogjet to use a FTP server. I have tried repeatedly to get this to work without success. I have already contacted by ISP service provider for the correct information and the software will not allow a connection.

blork, actually your feedback is invaluable for me. You are correct that I didn't answer the question. I should have proposed two solutions: 1) no FTP is actually needed if you want to upload images, go ahead and use direct method (if user was trying to get uploads work), and 2) instructions on how to setup FTP if that's what user wanted.

Thanks for correcting me and answering the question! Lesson learned.

OK, FYI, yes, I'm feeling cranky because I couldn't figure out how to get the FTP thing working either, so when I found this thread, and it skipped over the answer too, I got pissed. I write software instructions for a living, so I'm always sensitive to cases where a thing should be easy to do, but the software design and the documentation skip all around the answer without actually providing it. Then someone flat out asks the question, and the answer gets skipped over again. I deal with this every day at work and it drives me crazy. No offense intended.

Hi. I had this same problem. For anyone else who has it, here's what you do:

Go to Tools > Manage Accounts

Click EDIT (next to your account name), then EDIT again. (The Account Wizard opens)

Change your "Provider" from "WordPress (direct upload)" to "Wordpress."

Click Next

Re-enter your WP username and password (if necessary) and click Next

This is where the "Use FTP to upload picture..." thing appears. You'll have to enter your FTP server info and paths, as well as your "base url." Also, your FTP username and password.

One other thing, and I don't want to sound like an ingrate, but Dmitry, you've FAILED as a support person. Slade52 asked you how to set up FTP and your answer was to tell him he doesn't need to set up F TP. You did not answer the question, you merely evaded it.

Don't fall into the trap of assuming all users do things "by the book."

Perfect example is me. My WordPress allows direct uploads, but I have CHOSEN to do it the old fashioned way (via FTP). This is primarily (but not exclusively) because I've been blogging for far longer than these easy tools have been around, and I prefer to keep doing it that way. I don't necessarily trust Wordpress to organize things the way I want, and if I migrate to another tool, I'd rather not have to decode how Wordpress did it. I'm on my third platform for my blog, and I've learned that the best thing is to keep to an easy standard and to not let the tool dictated how it's done. (I got burned by Typepad's arcane and completely stupid way of archiving images; no more!)

Therefore, when someone asks you a question, please try to answer it instead of deflecting it.

This isn't a flame. I just get very annoyed when people ask for help and don't get it.

Yes I've been uploading images via Wordpress admin panel. I would like if possible to just upload straight from Blogjet.

The folder that I use for custom settings on the server is wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/
I planned on using 02 for next month and 03 for March etc...

Did you set up FTP or use the direct upload feature (I mean, did Account Wizard ask you to set up FTP)?
