    Hi,
    I have Memoires 2.0.
    Just upgraded last week.
    Mac Mini.
    OSX 10.5.6

After I type an entry, a question window asks if I want to save the changes I made, and cautions that changes will be lost if I don't save.
    I click save.
Then I'm asked if I want to save the entry to my desktop.
    I say no.
Then, the first question is asked again: do I want to save changes. They'll be lost if I don't save.
I've already saved the entry, so I say no.
And then, I have nothing. Nothing is saved - anywhere.

Also, all the messages that I've put into Memories for months are gone.

    Hello,

    Thank you for bug report!

First off, did you save your journal before upgrading? If so, can you find it in the same location you saved it to? (If you do, please make a backup copy.)

Could you please try creating new journal and then try to save it? Can you save it? Make sure you click "Save" when it asks you for a location.

May I point out that, according to your message, you didn't save your journal:

    I click save.
Then I'm asked if I want to save the entry to my desktop.
    I say no.

When you click Save... for the first time, Mémoires asks for a location to save your journal to. Just like any other document-oriented applications on Mac — TextEdit, Pages, Word, etc. — when you close a window, or quit an application, it asks you if you want to save changes or quit without saving. If you were working with Untitled document (the one that has not been saved before), it asks for a location. If you click Cancel there, it cancels quitting, and will ask you again if you want to save your document next time you close the window or the application.

    Hi
    Thanks for the reply.
I downloaded a new copy of Memoires and registered it tonight.
Some of the bugs are gone.
    I opened the Memoires application.
Clicked on the title bar. I didn't have to click on the plus in the bottom left pane.
I typed a title and then a message in the main window.
    I clicked the Save button
A widow opened and asked where I want it saved.
    I selected Desktop.
    I clicked the Save button
A folder for Memories was saved on my desktop.
I assumed that this is a backup folder.
BUT when I reopened Memoires application, my entries are not saved.
    It's empty.
I go back to the Memoires folder on my desktop.
My entries in it are saved.

How do I get Memoires to save my entires with or without a backup copy.

This is not a backup folder, this is the actual journal. Instead of your Desktop you can save it to your Documents folder, for example (if you open it, and click Save As..., you can choose another folder).
