    Hello
In my dotage I am thinking of creating a sort of retrospective diary of all my travels, significant events etc., going back about 60 years or so.
I have travelled a lot, in all about a decade of my life, and i have a pile of photos (several thousand), travel diaries, letters etc which i would like to get into some sort of chronological order, and a diary like this would assist.
Or perhaps, a journal so that i can put everything in it in date order, adding scans of documents, cut and paste in letters etc, attach a photo, etc etc
Is a program like Memoires a good program for this project? Or is there a better way to go about it? (my investigations so far lean me towards Memoires as the best of the 6 programs i have looked at)
And if so, how do i do it?
If i want to include photos, will it handle this (there are about 6000 photos!)
Can you view days only or months at a time, or can you see, say, 6 months at a time?
Can I print out a diary calendar for the events of say, 1969?
    many thanks

I think the best way to keep this sort of information is just to use the file system. Mémoires supports embedding images and other file types, but you seem to have a lot of stuff that's best viewed and edited using programs such as Preview (scans, for example), while Mémoires is better suited for rich text.

If you have OCRed text entries, then, I think, Mémoires for text, combined with folders and files for images/media on disk, will work well.

I'd just create folders for such retrospective diary, e.g.: create a root folder "Diary", then, inside it, folders like 2009/April/15, and put all media stuff into such folders. If I had text entries in addition to media, then I'd create a Mémoires journal inside the root "Diary" folder, and put every text entry into this journal.
